WorkSpaces Helps Raise $500k for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

On Thursday, June 9, 2011 the 22nd annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Real Estate Games took place at American University in Washington, DC. Along with WorkSpaces, more than 1,700 people from the commercial real estate community participated and competed against one another in the all-day Olympic-style sporting event. $500,000 were raised in support of the cause.

Not only did WorkSpaces help sponsor the event, but we also participated in some of the events. Competing as a WorkSpaces Warrior, Carly Keith, an Interior Designer in our DC office, took first place in the Women's Swimming 50m Butterfly! From the obstacle course, to the track, our WorkSpaces Warriors had a great time, and all for a good cause. Check out our pics from the event at http://on.fb.me/ws-jdrf.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) is dedicated to funding research to find a cure for juvenile diabetes, which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. JDRF’s sole function is to support research to find a cure for juvenile diabetes soon. In a typical year, more than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
